Chichen Itza - Temple of Chac-Mool — Carvings at the base of the Temple of Chac-Mool.
Chichen Itza - Templo de Los Jaguares y Escudos — Carvings and a coat of arms at the Temple of the Jaguars.
Chichen Itza - 1000 Columns Group 2 — Thousand Columns Group, just a few dozen or so, viewed from within.
Chichen Itza - Platform Of The Skulls — Platform de los Craneos, where images of enemies' skulls were accurately carved into the rock after being defeated. The intention was to ward off future enemies.
Chichen Itza - Cenote Sagrado — The Sacred Cenote, a giant underground pool (far below the ground) where warriors, babies, and (gasp!) virgins were sacrificed to the gods for anything from fertile land to rain to a nice pair of sandals.
Chichen Itza - Leaf Cutter Ants — One of the many streams of leaf cutter ants, crossing the road with pieces of building material.
Chichen Itza - Nunnery — The nunnery.
Chichen Itza - El Caracol — El Caracol (the observatory), where Mayans monitored the path of stars and Venus, and led to the creation of Jeanne Dixon.
