Hand-Drawn Ferry at North River Cut — In the 1960s, Hurricane Janet whipped things up so badly that the north end of the island is still divided by a waterway to this day. But the Belizians are great at dealing with these kinds of setbacks; they just need two guys, a metal platform, and a long rope, and they've got themselves a hand-drawn ferry.
Erin on Hand-Drawn Ferry — Crossing the north river cut with our bicycles, with a bunch of expensive looking palapas in the background.
Boating Through North River Cut — Those expensive looking palapas on a nicer day (when Lorne took us through the mangroves on his boat).
Road Beyond North River Cut — The hand-drawn ferry may have rescued the north end of the island from desolation, but not from cars. Only bicycles and golf carts are allowed there, and this "road" is another good indication of why.
Land For Sale Beyond North River Cut — A tempting offer! (Taken from the "road" in the previous picture.)

Sunset in San Pedro — A beautiful sunset just behind our hotel.
Another Sunset in San Pedro — You know we're in a place too long when we see TWO sunsets like this.
