Walking to Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary — After the bus let us off at Crooked Tree Junction, we had a three-mile walk along this road to reach the sanctuary itself. The look on my face reflects our failed attempt at hitchhiking, and how we were beginning to think it was all just an elaborate practical joke.
Lagoon Tour — Boats lined up waiting to take people on tours of the Crooked Tree lagoon for bird watching. Aside from our guide, we never saw another soul on the water or on land that day.
Boy and Stray Cats at Crooked Tree JunctionA young boy from a neighboring town hoping to catch a ride to visit his grandmother in Crooked Tree.
