Merida - Cathedral — Main cathedral near Plaza Grande, completed in 1598 using stones from Mayan temples that were torn down.
Merida - Macay Entrance — This alleyway is actually the entrance to the MACAY, the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo Ateneo de Yucatan (Yucatan Contemporary Art Museum and Atheneum). The strange shapes are giant metal sculptures of Crazy Straws.
Merida - Palacio Municipal — The municipal building in the center of town, near Plaza Grande.
Merida - Plaza Grande on Sunday — On Sundays, the Plaza Grande in the center of town booms with vendors, street performers, and people just hanging out.
Merida - Xylophone Players — Xylophones in Mexico are so big, it takes an entire family just to play one!
Merida - Monument To Mexico — Front of a giant monument built as a tribute to Mexico after World War II.
Merida - Monument To Mexico — Back of the giant monument to Mexico; around the front of the fountain are the coat of arms for each of the Mexican states.
Merida - Church — Another old church dating back to the Conquistadors.
