Antigua: Church Ruins

Cathedral Ruins — A massive earthquake in 1773 devastated Antigua, destroying virtually all of the buildings, and forcing the country to move its capital to what is now Guatemala City. Although many of the building facades have been preserved, as seen here, the buildings themselves were ransacked for new building material long before then.
